WESTMONT, IL - A longtime Westmont community figure and now centenarian has received a key to the village. Anne Szymski was presented with the honor by Westmont Mayor Ron Gunter and the Westmont Village Board at its most recent meeting, according to a news release from the village. The key came with a proclamation celebrating Szymski's 100th birthday.

“We like to celebrate people who have been influential in the community, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Anne Szymski and the entire Szymski family,” Gunter said.

Szymski and her husband Steve, who passed away in 2002, moved to Westmont in 1945.
