11 Solicit Sex Acts In Westmont: Cops

WESTMONT, IL – Nearly a dozen men were arrested last week on charges of soliciting sex acts, Westmont police said.

The 11 men were taken into custody between about 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. Westmont police said the arrests were part of a "targeted operation," but did not say where the men were apprehended.

In an email to Patch, Westmont police Sgt. Rolando Padilla said the local department, along with several agencies, conducted the operation at Chicago Club Inn & Suites. It was done with the hotel's cooperation, he said.

"During the operation, members of the Westmont Police Department posted 'ads' on known sex trafficking websites," Padilla said. "After communication was initiated by unknown persons, arrests were made. This was a law enforcement operation and not an illegal prostitution operation."

The men ranged in age from 26 to 51. All but one were released on their own recognizance, police said. The other man was taken to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office for a non-bond warrant.
