2 Battery Arrests in Hinsdale: Police

One is charged in domestic incident, while another is accused of spitting on guard, reports say.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police arrested two men in the last week on battery charges.

  • Joshua M. Virella, 32, of Hinsdale, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of South Jackson Street on a charge of domestic battery. According to a police report, he made contact of an "insulting or provoking nature" with a family member. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Mohammed N. Mohammad, 27, of Oak Lawn, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hinsdale hospital, 120 N. Oak St., on a charge of aggravated battery, a felony. According to a police report, he spat in a hospital security officer's face while the officer was performing his duties. Mohammad was taken into custody after he was released from the hospital. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
