2 Cars Stolen In Hinsdale Neighborhood: Cops

They were later recovered in Chicago and Dolton, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving stolen cars, a car break-in, a DUI, a woman's multiple violations, drug possession and a hit-and-run. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Stolen cars

  • A Jeep Wrangler and a BMW XS were stolen about 2 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Ravine Road. They were later found in the 14700 block of Evers Street in Dolton and 10800 block of South Bensley in Chicago. The case is pending.

  • Someone entered unlocked cars between 1 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Monday at a house in the 200 block of North Park Avenue. The person rummaged through the interiors.

DUI

  • Lashawn Herron, 31, of Chicago, was arrested about 2 a.m. Thursday at Ogden Avenue and York Road on charges of DUI, improper lane use, driving an uninsured vehicle and tail light violation. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • Amy E. Colomb, 56, of Willowbrook, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 10 block of East Hinsdale Avenue on charges of disorderly conduct and littering. The next day, she was charged with trespassing at the Hinsdale train depot, 21 E. Hinsdale Ave. She had been previously issued a no-trespass order. On Sunday, she was charged with vandalism to public property in the 10 block of East Hinsdale Avenue. She was released in all three instances and given dates to appear in court.

Drug possession

  • A person who was stopped for driving while using a phone was cited about 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Ogden Avenue and Elm Street. An officer found the person in possession of plastic baggies containing a suspected drug in pill form. The person was released with charges pending the results of lab testing.

Hit-and-run

  • A car was hit while it was parked between 6:45 a.m. and 7:05 am. Sunday at RML Specialty Hospital, 5601 S. County Line Road.
