2 Hinsdale Crimes Believed To Be Related

In one case, officers chased a suspect, but lost the person in traffic, police said.

HINSDALE, IL — Two recent incidents that occurred within three blocks of each other in Hinsdale are believed to be related.

On Nov. 23, a burglary of a house was reported in the 500 block of North York Road, Hinsdale police said in a statement. The front door of the house was pried open, and jewelry was stolen, police said. The incident was believed to have happened in the evening.

A week later, about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, a homeowner in the 200 block of East Walnut Street informed police that a suspicious car had pulled into the driveway. Officers tried to stop the driver from leaving the area, but the driver sped away, police said. Hinsdale officers chased the car south on Interstate 294 to Interstate 55, where they lost sight of the vehicle in traffic, police said.
