2 Hinsdale Men Charged With Domestic Battery

In another case, local police arrested a hit-and-run suspect after six years, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – In recent days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving domestic battery, a 6-year-old warrant, fraud, DUI and hit-and-run crashes. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 60-year-old Hinsdale man who lives in the 200 block of Justina Street was arrested about 6 p.m. Monday at his house on a charge of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 41-year-old Hinsdale man who lives in the 10 block of South Elm Street was arrested about 11:30 p.m. April 13 at his house on a charge of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • A 46-year-old Harwood Heights man was arrested April 15 on a 6-year-old warrant charging leaving the scene of a property damage crash. On May 5, 2018, the man backed into another person's car at Grant Street and Ayres Avenue and then drove away, police said. A warrant for his arrest was issued three months later. He was served the warrant while he was in the DuPage County Jail.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 500 block of West Ogden Avenue told police that someone called her April 9 claiming to be a representative from her bank. The suspect obtained her personal information and then fraudulently used her bank account.
  • A resident in the 200 block of South Monroe Street told police that someone called her April 15 claiming to be from the local sheriff's office and telling her about an arrest warrant. The suspect instructed the resident to deposit money into a cryptocurrency account. The case is pending.

DUI

  • A person who was stopped about 7:30 p.m. April 10 at York Road and Ogden Avenue for improper lane use and failure to signal was believed to be driving under the influence of drugs. The person consented to having a blood sample taken. The person was released, with charges depending on lab results.

Hit-and-run crashes

  • The driver of a blue sedan struck a woman's car about 5 p.m. April 11 at Lincoln Street and Ogden Avenue. The driver then fled.
  • A driver stuck a retention wall next to parking spaces between April 12 and April 15 in the 10 block of Salt Creek Lane. The case is pending.

Warrant

  • A 43-year-old Schererville, Indiana, woman was arrested about 1:30 am. April 16 at Madison Street and Ogden Avenue on a Lake County, Indiana, warrant. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
