2 Hinsdale Victims See $25K Fraudulent Withdrawals: Cops

The accounts were frozen before any losses to the residents' accounts, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 5600 block of South Park Avenue told police that someone gained access to the resident's bank accounts to make $25,000 in unauthorized withdrawals Jan. 23 and Jan. 24. The transactions were frozen before there was any loss to the resident's account. The same amount was also reported to be accessed from an account of a resident in the 400 block of Fuller Road on Jan. 18. There was no loss reported.

Theft

  • A person's Air Pods valued at $250 were stolen between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday in a locker room at Hinsdale Middle School, 100 S. Garfield St. The case is pending.
  • A total of $140 in cash was stolen from a woman's car between noon and 8 p.m. at Land Rover Hinsdale 336 E. Ogden Ave. It was left there to be serviced.
