2 Unlocked Cars Burglarized: Hinsdale Cops
DUI suspect refuses to submit to test, police say.
HINSDALE, IL — The Hinsdale Police Department released its latest blotter. Here is information from the reports:
- An unlocked car was burglarized between 6 p.m. April 1 and 8 a.m. April 2 in the 500 block of North Washington Street. The car was rummaged through. Nothing was reported missing.
- An unlocked car was burglarized between 3 p.m. March 22 and 8 a.m. April 2 in the 500 block of North Washington Street. The car was rummaged through. Nothing was reported missing.
- A car parked in the Hinsdale hospital's parking garage, 120 N. Oak St., was hit between 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. April 2. It was labeled a hit and run.
- Mauricio Rafael Vaca, 20, of Bridgeview, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. April 4 in the 100 block of West 55th Street on a charge of marijuana possession and speeding. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Lukasz S. Smykla, 40, of Palos Hills, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. April 4 at Justina and Minneola on charges of DUI and failure to drive on the right side of the road. Police found Smykla reversing onto Justina from the apron to the foot bridge. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content.
