The Community House is delighted to announce it hosted 71 teams and raised over $20,000 at its annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, August 25. Our committee members for the event were Mike Devine, Vic Galati, Luke Goodwin, Bob Brown, and Pete Tortorello.
This event helps support recreation programs at The Community House for over 3,000 kids in surrounding communities. Recreational programs are a key element to a vibrant community and TCH is happy to provide a wide variety of programming options for local kids of all ages. New offerings in the arts, sports, and mind/body health and wellness are just a few of the areas which are made possible for local children as a result of the 3 on 3 Tournament.
The tournament hosted teams from grade/age from 4th-8th grade and Freshman/Sophomore boys and girls. Adult teams also participated.

New this year was a 3 point shot contest where participants were given 1-minute to make as many 3-pointers as they could. The contest also featured “5 money balls” that were worth more points. This new addition to the Tournament raised over $1,000 and welcomed over 70 participants. Winners of the 3 point shot contest were Marty Branevicius, Shailen Patel, Ben Oosterbaan, Ryan MacKenzie, Jaden Fauske.
Community members came out and supported the players and enjoy a beautiful day at The Community House. A silent auction was held and included prizes including Cubs and Bulls jerseys, tickets to the Cubs, Sox, and Blackhawks, dinners at local restaurants, and car washes.
