4 Cars Stolen In Hinsdale: Police
Car keys are easily accessible to thieves. In one case, they were hanging on a garage wall, police say.
HINSDALE, IL — Four cars were stolen in Hinsdale last week after suspects gained access to garages with remote openers, police said.
About 4 a.m. Friday, suspects entered an unlocked car in a driveway in the 500 block of Warren Trail and found a remote opener for the garage. In the garage, they stole a Land Rover Range Rover, a Merecedes-Benz E350 and a Land Rover Evoque. The keys were hanging on a wall in the garage, police said.
Later the same day, police said they found the Evoque abandoned in the 400 block of Warren Trail. Three days later, the Range Rover was found in the 14700 block of Kimbark Avenue in Dolton.

Missing from one of the recovered cars was a wallet valued at $900 with about $100 in cash, a passport, a driver's license and credit cards.
Early the morning of Oct. 6, a Land Rover Discovery was stolen in the 900 block of Cleveland Road. A suspect entered an unlocked car in the driveway and opened the garage door with an opener from the car. The person then stole the Land Rover, which was in the garage with the keys inside. The car was found the next day by Chicago police in the 6700 block of South Union.
