HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale is considering a four-way stop at an intersection because of the number of crashes there.

In a memo, the village said five right-angle collisions have occurred at Chestnut and Monroe streets in the last year. Over the last 14 months, the number is seven.

Now, stop signs are on Chestnut, but not Monroe.

As part of the changes, the village is looking to prohibit parking on the east side of Monroe between Chestnut and the nearby Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad right-of-way.

The memo said the village's staff has spoken with all Monroe residents between Chestnut and the railroad. No one objected.
