Acclaimed Speaker Visits Hinsdale Central

He will present "Prevention Starts with All" in the auditorium for members of the community.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale Central will welcome acclaimed speaker Chris Herren on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. The district said Herren is a former NBA star and a substance abuse survivor. He will present "Prevention Starts with All" in the auditorium for members of the community.

Herren will address students during the school day, but the evening event is free and open to the community. The district said Herren will speak about substance use disorder, how to advocate for effective treatment and how to embrace the power of recovery.

Herren last visited Hinsdale Central during the 2014-2015 school year. The district said feedback from students and staff indicated that the original presentation was so positive and inspiring that the Hinsdale Central PTO has sponsored this return event to introduce him to a new group of students.
