Tater Tot is a sweet, shy pup who has spent his entire life in a puppy mill.

HINSDALE, IL — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at Hinsdale Humane Society. This week's 'Adoptable Pet' is Tater Tot, who is available for adoption at the humane society.
Tater Tot is a 10-year-old, 6-pound Yorkshire Terrier. The society said he is a sweet, shy pup who has spent his entire life in a puppy mill. Tater Tot is a special needs animal who gets along well with people 8 years or older.
Tater Tot qualifies for the shelter's "Friends for Life" program which matches senior citizens with wonderful, adoptable older animals who make devoted companions for life, the shelter said. If a suitable match is found, the adoption fee with be waived and any spay/neuter surgery with be paid for by the society.

The Hinsdale Humane Society is located at 22 N. Elm St., in Hinsdale. The society is open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays; 12 to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is closed on Mondays.
