HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police on Wednesday released video footage (below) of the burglary of Kelsey's resale boutique, 51 S. Washington St., and the chase afterward.
In the video, seven men holding bags are seen rushing into the store and grabbing merchandise from the shelves. Police are later seen chasing one of the getaway cars in downtown, with the driver bumping into curbs and sliding on snow and ice.
On Wednesday, authorities released the names and photos of four suspects who were caught.
In a statement Tuesday, police said they were responding to a call about suspicious cars downtown about 3:30 a.m. when they interrupted the burglary.
After a brief pursuit, officers boxed in one of the suspects' two cars at Hinsdale Avenue and Village Place and then quickly apprehended three people who ran away, police said.
Several suspects got away in another car, police said.
Police said they are pursuing leads.
In a statement, Hinsdale Village President Greg Hart said, "The dedication and professionalism shown by our Hinsdale police officers in this incident reflect why Hinsdale is consistently recognized as one of the safest communities in Illinois."
