CLARENDON HILLS, IL – Clarendon Hills' former manager has taken a job in a tiny suburb that borders southwest Chicago.

This week, the board for Forest View approved Zach Creer as the new manager. His predecessor lasted only a few months.

With a population of about 1,200, Forest View is about an eighth the size of Clarendon Hills.

Called "The Cinderella Village," Forest View has a bigger industrial base than Clarendon Hills.

Creer, who was Clarendon Hills' manager for more than two years, couldn't be reached for immediate comment Friday.

Last August, Village President Eric Tech quietly put Creer on leave, never giving the public a reason.

By September, the Village Board struck an agreement with Creer for his departure in return for 20 extra weeks of pay, amounting to $70,000, and health insurance.

The pact also called for Creer to consult with the village for $5,000 a month for six months.

Both the village and Creer were barred from criticizing the other.

Since then, Paul Dalen, a former Clarendon Hills police chief, has served as the acting village manager.
