Hundreds Without Power In Hinsdale: ComEd

HINSDALE, IL – About 700 Hinsdale homes remained without power as of early Tuesday afternoon, according to ComEd's outage map.

This is the result of storms on Monday.

Based on the history of similarly sized storms, ComEd said it expected 80 percent of the outages to end by noon Wednesday and the vast majority by Friday night.

The village government listed other impacts of the storm, which brought intense rainfall, high winds and hail:

• Several police cars sustained hail damage, including cracked windshields.
• Hail damaged skylights at the Hinsdale Food Pantry.
• Flooding occurred at several village buildings, including the public works garage, the Memorial Building and parts of the police station.

On Monday night, nine spots in the village had downed utility wires.

On Tuesday, the village deployed two woodchippers to run simultaneously to deal with downed trees – one serving the north side, the other on the south side.
