OAK BROOK, IL – An Oak Brook woman hit a parked car and drove away with a wheel missing before an officer stopped her over the weekend, police said.

On Saturday afternoon, the 43-year-old woman, who lives on Bradford Lane, hit the car on York Road in Oak Brook, according to a report that Patch obtained through a records request.

It was north of the Hinsdale village limit.

The parked car was along the road, unoccupied. Its driver was delivering a DoorDash order.

The woman, who had been heading south from her house to Whole Foods, turned around and went north after the crash. Shortly after, an officer clocked her going 45 mph in a 30 mph zone in a 2014 Porsche Cayenne, police said.

When the officer stopped her, the woman was reported to be "stumbling around."

She denied she had been drinking, but slurred her words, police said.

At one point during her sobriety tests, the woman cried and held the officer's hands, letting the officer smell alcohol on her breath, police said.

Once a particular test was over, the woman hugged the officer, according to the report. He again reported detecting an alcoholic odor.

She twice refused to take breath tests to determine her blood-alcohol level.

The woman was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, speeding and improper lane usage. She was released.
