📰 News we're reading

• Hinsdale Takes Action To Make Intersection Safer For Children (patch.com) — Parents in Hinsdale's Woodlands neighborhood successfully pushed the village to add a new crosswalk on County Line Road at Third Street, improving safety for children walking to school and downtown events. After residents collected signatures and met with officials, a temporary crosswalk was installed, and trustees have now hired a traffic engineering firm to study school-area traffic and apply safety lessons across Hinsdale.

• Hinsdale Must Prepare For Amazon Drones: Village Officials (patch.com) — Hinsdale officials are beginning to plan for Amazon's expected drone deliveries, debating what local authority they have over launch sites, landing zones, and related infrastructure. With Amazon expanding drone service to the Chicago area, trustees want clear rules to protect residents' quality of life, especially around the Whole Foods in town that could become a drone hub.

• Hinsdale Man Kisses Someone Without Consent: Police (fiorreports.com) — A Hinsdale resident has been charged with battery after allegedly kissing someone without consent at a Westmont business over the weekend, according to police. The 57-year-old man, who lives on South Thurlow Street in Hinsdale, was released on his own recognizance while authorities process the case.
