Woman Embezzles From Hinsdale Employer, Charged With Felony: Police

The thefts occurred for about three weeks, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – A Westmont woman is accused of stealing from her downtown Hinsdale employer.

Gail M. Lupia, 67, was charged with felony theft ranging from $500 to $10,000, police said.

Police said she stole money from the cash register as an employee at Hinsdale News Agency, 24 E. Hinsdale Ave., between May 14 and June 3. The business reported the alleged theft June 3.

Lupia was charged Aug. 11 and released to appear in court.

The business sells newspapers, magazines and other items.
