Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta Held In Clarendon Hills
Teams are invited to build their very own seafaring vessel for this family event. All crafts must be made using only cardboard and duct tape

CLARENDON HILLS, IL — The Clarendon Hills Park District will hold its fifth annual Cardboard Boat Regatta on Saturday, Aug. 4. The event will be held at the Lions Park Pool, 100 Byrd Court, at 9 a.m.
According to the park district, teams are invited to build their very own seafaring vessel for this family event. All crafts must be made using only cardboard and duct tape. An obstacle course will be set up in the Lions Park Pool lap lanes before the races begin.
Prizes will be awarded in a number of categories including "Fastest Vessel" and "Most Creative Craft." All boat drivers must be able to swim or be properly fitted with a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket. A continental breakfast will also be served to all boaters.

There is a $20 registration fee for each boat participating in the races. You can register at the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Center, 315 E. Chicago Ave., on or before Aug. 1.
