Auditions for PVPN's "Footloose"

The classic tale of teenage rebellion and repression features a delightful combination of music, dance and realistic and touching performances. When a city teenager moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned, Ren McCormack is in for a big case of culture shock and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace. Only Ren has the courage to initiate a battle to abolish the outmoded law and revitalize the spirit of the stifled townspeople. Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people; guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

PVPN is looking for actors ages 14 and older. Auditions will be held at the Westmont Community Center on March 7th and 8th at 6pm. If callbacks are needed, they will be on March 10th at 6pm. The Community Center is located at 75 East Richmond Street in Westmont.

Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show that best showcases your voice. An accompanist will be provided so please bring sheet music in the key you will be using. To perform to cd, mp3 or ipod is acceptable. Be prepared for a cold reading from the script for your audition. You may be asked to run a few dance movements as well, so please dress comfortably.

Show dates are June 17th, 18th and 19th and June 24th, 25th and 26th and will be performed at the Westmont High School. We are looking for actors, singers and dancers ages 14+… with or without experience! All are welcome to enjoy the fun and laughter of musical theatre.
