Backpack Was Gone When Victim Returned To Corner Bakery: Cops

Theft

A victim in the 600 block of Stough Street reported at 11:10 a.m. on June 19 that someone stole tiles valued at $5,257.82 from a house under construction.

A victim in the 900 block of Taft Road reported on June 18 that his garbage can valued at $75 was taken while it was at the curb on garbage pick-up day.

A victim at Corner Bakery, 40 E. Hinsdale Ave. reported that she left her backpack under a booth there around 5 p.m. on June 19 and that when she returned, her backpack was open and a wallet containing $80, gift cards and her school ID was missing.

A victim said his Segway valued at $650 was taken from the area of Corner Bakery and Salon Lofts between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on June 24. The victim reported his son locked the Segway through an app but was not sure if it was physically locked. A witness located the Segway in the bushes along Chicago Ave and Blaine St. The Segway was returned to owner.

DUI

Christopher D. Ims, 37, Crystal Lake was stopped on the shoulder of the exit ramp at Ogden Avenue and Route 83 at 12:45 a.m. on June 24 and charged with DUI - alcohol and DUI greater than .08. He was stopped on the shoulder of exit ramp, observed to be under the influence and submitted testing that indicated he was over the legal limit.

Hit And Run

A victim in the 200 block of W. 8th St. reported that someone hit her vehicle while it was legally parked on the street between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on June 19 and did not leave information.

Criminal Damage To Property

A victim in the 700 block of W. North St. reported that between June 21 at 10 a.m. and June 22 at noon that a statue valued at $10,000 was knocked over in her backyard. The extent of the damage to the statue was unknown at the time of report due to the size.

An unknown suspect damaged a victim's chain link fence in the 200 block of S. Vine St. between midnight and 11:40 p.m. on June 19.

Criminal Trespass To Vehicle

An unknown suspect entered a victim's unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway in the 300 block of Canterbury Court between June 23 at 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. The trespasser rummaged through the inside of the car, but nothing was reported missing.

Burglary To Vehicle

An unknown suspect entered a victim's unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 500 block of N. Garfield Ave. between 8 p.m. on June 22 and 9 a.m. on June 23. $20 was stolen.
