About 4 p.m. July 30, the suspect's girlfriend was driving a black Ford Fusion when she stopped for a red light at Madison Street and Ogden Avenue.

Both the man and the girlfriend said the driver of a silver van in front of their car "brake-checked" them, causing them to crash into the van, according to the report. Some yelling occurred.

They then proceeded, but ended up meeting again at Grant Street and Ayres Avenue, which is three blocks away. The 26-year-old then drew his black 9mm Glock 43X gun, advanced toward the other driver and told the person not to move, police said.

The other driver acknowledged he may have cut off the Ford.

Because of conflicting stories, no ticket was issued in the crash, police said.

The 26-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct because the van's driver said he feared for his life.
