Car Burglaries Continue in Hinsdale: Police
All the burglarized cars were unlocked, reports say. Police advise residents to lock vehicles.
HINSDALE, IL — Five unlocked cars were burglarized in Hinsdale in the last few days, according to the Hinsdale Police Department's latest reports. Police continue to advise residents to lock their cars and not leave valuables inside.
Here is information from the police department's latest blotter:
- An unlocked car parked in the driveway of a house in the 100 block of West North Street was burglarized between 10 a.m. Jan. 4 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 5. The suspect stole $40 in cash and rummaged through the interior.
- An unlocked car parked in the driveway of a house in the 100 block of North Adams Street was burglarized between Dec. 22 and Jan. 6. The suspect rummaged through the interior. Nothing was missing from the car.
- Two unlocked cars parked in the driveway of a house in the 10 block of South Quincy Street were burglarized between 11 p.m. Jan. 5 and 9:45 a.m. Jan. 6. The suspect rummaged through the interiors of the cars. Nothing was missing.
- An unlocked car parked in the driveway of a house in the 400 block of South Bodin Street was burglarized between 7 p.m. Jan. 2 and 9 a.m. Jan. 3. A garage door opener was stolen, and the garage door was half opened.
- Two packages on the front porch of a house in the 600 block of Justina Street were stolen about 4 p.m. Dec. 31. The theft was reported the next day. The packages contained clothing valued at $150. The suspect, seen on a surveillance camera, was described as a black male wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white socks and black shoes.
- Kierre Tysha Edwards, 29, of Indianapolis, was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. Dec. 31 at Ogden Avenue and Monroe Street on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. She was released to appear in court.
- A package on the front porch of a house in the 700 block of North Oak Street was stolen between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 30. The package contained clothing valued at $315.
- A package on the front porch of a house in the 400 block of South Adams Street was stolen shortly after 9 p.m. Dec. 27. The suspect, seen on surveillance camera, was described as a thin white male wearing a black ball cap and dark-colored clothing.
- Bernard Branch, 54, of Hillside, was arrested shortly after 4 p.m. Jan. 4 at Ogden Avenue and Salt Creek Lane on a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was released to appear in court.
