Car Burglary At Hinsdale Park In Broad Daylight: Cops

Someone stole valuables from the car and shattered its windows, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Burglary

  • A car was burglarized between 6:10 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. Saturday at Katherine Legge Park. Purses, a laptop, a tablet and a phone were stolen. The car's windows were shattered. The case is pending.

Theft

  • An electric scooter valued at $300 was stolen between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. from the parkway near County Line Road and Walnut Street. The case is pending.

DUIs

  • Neeha C. Gill, 23, of Lisle, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of South Madison Street on charges of DUI, speeding, failure to signal when required and improper lane use. She submitted to testing that indicated she was over the legal limit. Police said she possessed a suspected controlled substance in pill form. More charges may be filed pending the lab results of the substance. Gill was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Elias J. Vargas, 31, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI, speeding, improper lane use and driving an uninsured car. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Warrants

  • Ismael Morroquin Mejia, 40, of Chicago, was arrested about 7 p.m. June 6 at the Hinsdale hospital, 120 N. Oak St., on Cook County and Chicago warrants. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Marco A. Perez Zuniga, 30, of Northlake, was arrested shortly before noon Friday at York Road and Maumell Street on a Cook County warrant and a charge of using a phone while driving. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
