Car Stolen, DUIs, Damage To Vehicle: Hinsdale Blotter

Hinsdale Police reports through April 3.

The following items were taken from the Hinsdale police blotter. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

DUI

  • Stephanie Brennan, 21, of La Grange, was arrested at 3:59 a.m. April 1 in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue for DUI-alcohol and speeding.
  • Matyas Szilagyi, 24, of Willowbrook, was arrested at 12:17 a.m. March 30 at Route 83 and 31st Street for DUI-alcohol, improper lane use and speeding.

  • A driver reported being followed by an unknown suspect driving a silver Pontiac sedan at 4:40 a.m. March 31 near Garfield Avenue and Hickory Street. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the suspect fled.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

  • Damage was reported to a vehicle in the 500 block of North Vine Street sometime between 5 and 9 p.m. March 28. The front passenger's side headlamp and front passenger side quarter panel were damaged.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • A 2010 Chevy Cobalt was stolen from the service center's parking lot at Fuller's Service Center, 102 W. Chicago Ave., sometime between 7 p.m. March 29 and 6 a.m. March 30. The car was found by Oak Brook Police on March 31 at Route 83 and I-88.

Recovered Stolen Car

  • Police found a 2006 Chevy Silverado at 1:38 p.m. March 30 at Fuller's Service Center, 102 W. Chicago Ave., that was reported stolen out of LaSalle County.
  • Police found a 2003 Toyota Matrix at Fuller's Service Center, 102 W. Chicago Ave., at 1:25 a.m. March 28. The car was reported stolen out of Carol Stream.

Attempted Burglary

  • Screws holding the lock mechanism on the business' door were loosened at Cafe LaFortuna, 46 Village Place, sometime between 6 p.m. March 28 and 6 a.m. March 29. It is not believed that entry was gained to the shop.
