Car Theft, House Burglary: Hinsdale Cops

Suspect had an easy path to stealing car, report indicates.

HINSDALE, IL — In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving a car theft, a house burglary, a hospital attack and a warrant. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Car theft

An unlocked car was stolen between midnight and 7 a.m. Oct. 27 in the 200 block of Eighth Street. The key fob was inside the car.

House burglary

A house in the 600 block of Phillippa Street was burglarized between 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 26. The resident found the front door open. Several rooms were ransacked. U.S. currency and foreign coins were stolen.

Hospital attack

A patient in the emergency room at the Hinsdale hospital, 120 N. Oak St., grabbed and pushed the charge nurse on duty about 9 a.m. Oct. 27. The incident was listed as an aggravated battery of hospital personnel.

Warrant

Petar Novovic, 27, of La Grange Park, was arrested about 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at East Ogden Avenue and Interstate 294 on an Illinois State Police warrant and on charges of no driver's license, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Driving violations

Shayne Jackson, 34, of Rockford, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of West Ogden Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
