In Brahms’s String Sextet No. 1, deep sonorities abound and the contrapuntal possibilities of the sextet are explored. Known for his incorporation of folk music idioms, Dvořák provides an evocative listening experience through shifting moods and contrapuntal ingenuity in his String Sextet in A Major.
