CLARENDON HILLS, IL — The Chicago White Sox Academy is headed to the Clarendon Hills Park District on Saturday mornings this winter. According to the park district, the academy will provide young baseball players with "winning" tips which will help them prepare for the spring baseball season.
The new White Sox Pitching Club program will meet from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Saturday mornings at the Clarendon Hills Middle School Gym, Feb. 17 to March 10. The park district said the academy is open to young players ages 7-10, and this class will focus in on accuracy, velocity and minimal arm strain.
Younger baseball players ages 6-8 will want to consider registering for the White Sox Fundamentals class, which will be taught between 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Saturday mornings, Feb. 17 to March 10. The park district said the instructors will cover throwing, hitting and fielding in what promises to be a popular spring training program.
