Caregiver accessed elderly charge's credit cards and checking accounts to make personal transactions, prosecutors said.

A Clarendon Hills caregiver is accused of accessing an elderly patient’s checking accounts and credit cards to make personal transactions, prosecutors said in court on Tuesday.
Sarah Pulley, 22, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of aggravated felony theft.
Prosecutors said that Pulley was employed as a caregiver to an Indian Head Park woman. Between August 2014 and April 2015, Pulley allegedly made transactions by accessing her elderly charge’s checking accounts and credit cards. Approximately $2,000 was reported stolen.

Pulley said in a written statement to police that the elderly woman had offered to help with Pulley’s finances, prosecutors alleged.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Pulley is a stay-at-home-mom living in Clarendon Hills with her own mother and children, who has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
