Boyd Farmer, who was named deputy chief of the Clarendon Hills Police Department in 2013, has been promoted to police chief.
Current chief Ted Jenkins is retiring, effective June 19, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Farmer has worked for the Clarendon Hills Police Department since 1987. He has served as a sergeant, a detective, an evidence technician, a juvenile officer and a DARE officer.
