CLARENDON HILLS, IL – The Clarendon Hills Village Board plans to vote Monday on changing the rules for landscaping noise.

Now, noise from landscaping work falls under the general construction part of the village code. The hours for such noise are limited to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Clarendon Hills staff checked the regulations in other towns. Its recommendation is following what Hinsdale does, limiting such noise to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.

Like Hinsdale, the staff also recommends limiting the rule to gas-powered equipment while allowing electric equipment outside the hours. Electric equipment is much less noisy.

Trustee Omar Chaudhry asked the staff to look into the noise rules, according to a village memo.
