Clarendon Hills Middle School Hosts ‘Pizza Wars‘ Fundraiser

Clarendon Hills Middle School held its first annual Pizza Wars / Eagle Jam Fundraiser on Friday, May 2. With over 600 participants, ten pizza vendors and exciting student performances, event organizers said the event was a major success.

The night began with pizza taste testing and fan votes for the favorites; Home Run Inn pizza was the top winner, with York Tavern pizza not far behind. Also participating was Zazzo's Pizza, Aurelio's of La Grange, Baldinelli Pizza, Domino's, Fox's Pizza, Pompei, L&F Pizza and Mario's Pizza.

School staff then entertained the crowd with a pizza eating contest. Participants included Principal Griffin Sonntag, Secretary to the Principal Diane Torti, 8th Grade Language Arts teacher Jennifer Scheuerman and Band instructors Terry Melbourn and Rich Lehman, with Lehman crowned the winner. The final component of the night included student performances; students Evan Talbott, Reagan Brownell, Kerri Kenny and Colin Yandell served as the emcees.
