Clarendon Hills Park District Participates in Teen Job Fair
February 23 Event Adds Sunshine to Summer Job Search
Calling all teens and young adults ages 15-22! The Clarendon Hills Park District is teaming up with six other west suburban park districts to present a "Teen Job Fair," between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday Feb. 23 at the Westmont Park District, 75 E. Richmond Street. This program is entirely free of charge, but advance registration is required. Local residents are encouraged to stop by the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Center, 315 E. Chicago Avenue, to sign up for this event. Regular business hours at the Community Center are from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. The Teen Job Fair will offer a brief look at the many seasonal positions available at local park districts this year including: day camp counselors, lifeguards, swimming instructors, parks maintenance workers and pool admissions staff. This event is a wonderful way to ask questions about summer employment, and there will be opportunities to fill out job applications on-site. Teens and young adults who feel that may need some additional advice before the job fair are encouraged to register for the Interview/Application Boot Camp which will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 23 at the Westmont Park District. There is a $10.00 resident fee ($15.00 non-resident) to participate in this class which offers advice on preparing a resume and developing skills for a job interview. Learn how social media sites are used by prospective employers. Advance registration is also required for this class. For more information, please contact the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Center, 630-323-2626.
