Clarendon Hills Park District's Halloween House Decorating Contest

Judging Set for Monday, Oct. 24

"Witch" family in Clarendon Hills can decorate the scariest, silliest house for Halloween this year? The Clarendon Hills Park District's Halloween House Decorating Contest returns to town on Monday evening, Oct. 24 when a team of "friendly ghosts" from the Community Center will be flying across town between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to select three homes for top prizes. All entries will be judged on originality, creativity and arrangement of seasonal designs. All homeowners are reminded that "ghosts" are not allowed to set up or arrange house decorations - the installation must be completed by residents of the home participating in the competition. To enter the contest, please e-mail your name and home address to valeriel@clarendonhillsparkdistrict.org no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21. In-person registration is also being accepted at the Community Center, 315 E. Chicago Avenue, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. This competition is entirely free of charge. The winners' names will be announced on Thursday evening, Oct. 27 in Prospect Park when the Clarendon Hills Park District hosts its first ever Pumpkin Decorating Night. For more information on a "spook-tacular" contest, please call the Clarendon Hills Park District at 630-323-2626.
