Clarendon Hills Preschoolers Celebrate Mad Science Month
A unit on static electricity is next on the agenda at the Clarendon Hills Park District's Active Learners Preschool.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL — Boys and girls at the Clarendon Hills Park District's Active Learners Preschool will be celebrating Mad Science Month throughout February. The preschoolers will use observation, experimentation and a little bit of imagination to learn more about the world in which they live.
The park district said the first activity for this celebration of science was the "Naked Egg" experiment, which involved the use of vinegar to dissolve an egg shell, leaving a "naked egg", covered by a membrane inside. The preschoolers had some very creative and imaginative hypotheses about this project, as they worked under the watchful eyes of their teachers, Sandy Le Blanc and Gretchen Wells Malitz.
