Clarendon Hills Receives Water Quality Grant From DuPage County
The committee selected five projects countywide, all of which aim to improve the quality of the DuPage's streams and rivers.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – The DuPage County Stormwater Management Planning Committee voted on the 2018 recipients of the County’s Water Quality Improvement Program grant. The village of Clarendon Hills permeable pavers and rain garden project was chosen for a grant, according to the county. In total, the Committee selected five projects countywide, all of which aim to improve the quality of the DuPage’s streams and rivers.
“The grant applications we received this year were for impressive projects that will provide our local communities with a multitude of benefits,” DuPage County Stormwater Management Committee Chairman Jim Zay said in a release. “In particular, the projects we selected will improve the quality of our waterways, reduce localized flooding and enhance public and private property.”
In its 19th year, the Water Quality Improvement Program grant awards up to 25 percent of funding for projects exhibiting a regional water quality benefit, the county said in a release. DuPage County received 15 applications this year for projects totaling nearly $6 million. The Stormwater Committee awarded $334,934 to this year’s recipients and projects.
