Clarendon Hills Sees Biggest Virus Hike Since April: County
Hinsdale also sees a relatively large increase in coronavirus cases.
HINSDALE, IL — In the last week, Clarendon Hills saw 15 new coronavirus cases, according to the DuPage County Health Department. That's the largest weekly increase since early April.
Meanwhile, Hinsdale experienced eight new cases of the coronavirus, according to county agencies. In the six weeks before that, the village experienced just four new cases.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,661 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 898 as of Sunday.

Hinsdale saw no new coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total at 61 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths stayed the same in the last week, at 13.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 93.7 coronavirus cases per thousand people since the pandemic's beginning. The figure compares to 83.8 in Darien, 88.9 in La Grange Park, 92.5 in DuPage County, 95.2 in Elmhurst, 99.6 in Western Springs, 100.9 in Clarendon Hills, 102.9 in suburban Cook County, 106 in Burr Ridge and 122.2 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).
As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,407,929, up 0.4 percent from a week earlier, according to the state Department of Public Health. The number of confirmed deaths so far is 23,401.
Nationally, 34.4 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported, up 1.4 percent from the week before, according to the Centers for Disease Control. A total of 608,403 people have died from the virus in the United States.
