Coats and Stoles Get Second Life At This Old Fur

Hinsdale Furriers' "This Old Fur" consignment reopens for business with terrific bargains. Gently used furs accepted through mid-December.

Melissa Waters, manager of Hinsdale Furriers, announces the ultimate in recycling – the 13th annual grand re-opening of “This Old Fur” which is located at Hinsdale Furriers, 33 E. First St. Coats and jackets from This Old Fur are sold on consignment at extreme discounts.

The furs are now on sale, and “gently used” furs are being accepted until mid-December.

“We are bursting at the seams with more than 100 gently used furs ranging in size from 2 to 22,” Waters said. “The collection includes full length coats, jackets, strollers, shearlings and leathers, some for as little as $200, and fur accessories begin at $40. There are some terrific bargains.”

Using e-mail, the staff at This Old Fur alerts customers when a coat comes in that he or she may be looking for including a description, size, condition and cost. Anyone who would like to be on the list is asked to e-mail at: furs4u2@aol.com in the subject line, put: ‘This Old Fur.’ .

Hinsdale Furriers is in its 63rd year of business. Lines of merchandise include an extensive and exclusive selection of the finest new furs and shearlings. The business also offers customers fur storage, cleaning, repair, remodeling services, and once again - This Old Fur.

“We have a really good variety right now,” Waters said. “Whether a customer is buying or consigning, or both, we make the process as easy as possible.”
