Coronavirus: Large Gatherings Concern D-86

Such groups are violating the governor's stay-at-home order, the district says.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale High School District 86 says it continues to receive reports of larger groups using its tracks and turf fields, despite the governor's stay-at-home order. "We are particularly concerned about the larger groups of individuals that are using these spaces, which is a violation of the stay-at-home order and limit on larger gatherings," the district said in a Facebook post Thursday.

The district said it understands the desire to stay active and that its facilities are considered community resources.

"However, similar to local parks and playgrounds, it is imperative that our school grounds remain closed to the public during this time," the district said. "Doing so will help us preserve and protect the health and well-being of our students, staff, families, friends and neighbors."
