D-181's Highest Paid Teachers And Administrators

The district's top earner was Superintendent Hector Garcia.

HINSDALE, IL — Of the district's top 15 paid administrators and teachers last school year, five were administrators and the rest were teachers.

The school released its list for teacher and administrator salaries for the 2019-20 school year this week. It included 379 educators. Of them, 146, or nearly 40 percent, made more than $100,000 last year.

The top earner was Superintendent Hector Garcia, whose salary last school year was $239,465. The runner-up was Mohsin Dada, assistant superintendent of business services, whose salary was $194,324. Garcia's pay is relatively low compared to one of his predecessors, Mary Curley, who saw her pay rise by more than $100,000 to $385,000 in the two years before she retired in 2007.

Of the 10 teachers among the top 15, all were on the district's list for retirements in May.
