D181 Hires New Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations
Gary Frisch will replace Dr. Troy Whalen when the latter leaves for a superintendent position in July.

The following is a release from Community Consolidated School District 181:
With a unanimous vote at a special meeting, the Community Consolidated School District 181 Board approved the employment of Gary Frisch, CPA as the new Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations, effective July 1, 2012. He will fill the vacancy created by .
Frisch has 25 years’ experience in school business management, 19 of which were as the chief school business official. Since July 2006, he has been the Chief Financial Officer in Barrington Community Unit School District 220, a K-12 district with an annual budget of $120 million. His previous experience includes nine and one half years as Assistant Superintendent for Finance at Glenbard Township High School District 87. Other school experience includes three and a half years as Director of Business Operations and six years as Comptroller at Thornton Township High Schools in Harvey, Ill. Frisch also serves as an adjunct professor at Aurora University and Concordia University, where he teaches graduate courses in school finance and school ethics.

“I look forward to building on the trust and transparency the District has worked towards with the community and using my years of experience and knowledge to promote the best possible education for students in this excellent District,” Frisch said on March 20.
The new District 181 Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations earned a master’s of degree in School Business Management and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He also is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant). Frisch holds school administrative Type 75 certification and the Chief School Business Official Endorsement.

“Mr. Frisch's expertise and experience in school finance and business operations make him an outstanding addition to District 181. We welcome him to our leadership team,” Superintendent Renée Schuster said.
A member of the Association of School Business Official International, Frisch serves as chairman of the Meritorious Budget Award Committee. He has presented on the Meritorious Budget Award at national and state conferences.
