D181 Invites Community to April 18 Parent Ed Event: "How To Support Language & Literacy For Preschoolers And T

District 181 is welcoming the community to a one-hour presentation on how to support language and literacy for preschoolers and toddlers.

Community Consolidated School District 181 is welcoming all community members to a one-hour presentation on how to support language and literacy for preschoolers and toddlers. The event takes place Tuesday, April 18 at the District's Administration Center (115 West 55th Street, Clarendon Hills) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. No registration is needed.

The presenter will be Patricia A. Ward, M.S., CCC-SLP/BCBA, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 35 years of experience working with children in the medical, education, and private sectors. Ward is currently a Speech-Language Pathologist at Oak School. "Current research shows the home literacy environment of young children has a measurable effect on later developing literacy skills," she notes. "I look forward to talking with parents about real strategies that can be done at home in the child's natural environment."
