D86 Board Votes to Approve Tentative Agreement with Hinsdale Teachers

The school board voted 4 to 3 to approve the agreement.

The District 86 school board voted Oct. 20 to approve the tentative agreement that was reached Oct. 9 between the school board and the Hinsdale High School Teachers Association.

The school board voted 4 to 3 to approve the agreement, according to an HHSTA news release. Michael Kuhn, Kay Gallo, Jennifer Planson and Victor Casini voted to approve, the release stated.

The teachers also voted Oct 16 to approve the agreement. The majority of the teachers, 85 percent, voted “yes” to ratify the agreement, according to an HHSTA news release.

“The board’s approval marks the end of the most contentious negotiation in my memory,” said Jeff Waterman, chief negotiator for the teachers, in the news release.
