Darien Woman Slaps Hinsdale Hospital With Lawsuit Over Alleged Fall
Hospital staff failed to assist woman on bathroom trip after she was designated a "high fall risk," lawsuit claims.

A Darien woman is suing a west suburban hospital over claims that she slipped and fell while walking to the restroom unassisted.
Charlene Basile filed a lawsuit in DuPage County Circuit Court on Oct. 6. 2014 against Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.
Basile was undergoing treatment for lower back pain and difficulty walking. Hospital staff had put Basile on “high fall risk,” the lawsuit says.

The plaintiff maintains that on Oct, 6, 2012, she was walking to the bathroom unassisted and unsupervised by hospital staff when she slipped and fell.
According to the lawsuit, Basile suffered severe and permanent injuries, as well as aggravated pre-existing injuries and ailments because hospital staff did not adequately monitor and supervise her movements about the hospital room.

Basile is asking for damages in excess of $50,000 in damages and legal costs.
The case is being represented by attorney Bethany Whittles of the Chicago law firm of Sutter and Ori, LLC.
