District 181 Selects New Principal for The Lane School

The District 181 Board of Education has unanimously approved the employment of Brandon Todd as the new principal of The Lane School.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL - The Community Consolidated School District 181 Board of Education has unanimously approved the employment of Brandon Todd as Principal of The Lane School, effective July 1.

According to a release from the district, Todd earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. He began his education career as a language arts and social studies teacher, and he has served as a school administrator for eight years with Schaumburg School District 54 and North Shore School District 112. He is currently Assistant Principal of Eisenhower Junior High School in Hoffman Estates.

Superintendent Dr. Don White said in a release that more than 60 candidates expressed an interest in the position. Eleven applicants were asked to submit an online video response to two prompts; five candidates were then asked to participate in the on-site selection process that included three separate interviews with staff, parents, and Dr. White.

"Mr. Todd demonstrated to all interview participants that he has the skills, aptitude, and desire to serve The Lane School students, employees, and parents at a very high level. He is energetic and eager to make the 2017-18 school year a very positive experience for students, staff, and parents," Dr. White said in a release.

On the reason for applying for the position, Todd said in a release, "District 181 has a reputation of excellence, balancing data-driven decision making with the ability to support the unique needs of all learners. The Lane School is a shining example of the dedication to this balance. I was drawn to this position because of the high expectations that are shared by the staff, as well as the community. It is my honor to begin this new role."

When asked about his top priorities, Todd says he looks forward to building strong relationships with the parents and community.

"My mission will be to continue the culture of excellence at The Lane while ensuring that all students feel cared for each day and challenged academically," Todd said.
