On Friday, June 13, students in the Community Consolidated School District 181 Summer Learning Program theater workshop performed “Broadway Bound” for families and guests. The 24-student ensemble was led by teachers Steve Tabisz and Jan Clarin. The show featured 4th-9th graders who portrayed young Broadway hopefuls ready to follow their dreams after being inspired by legendary performers and producers. The musical production included songs from a variety of eras in Broadway history, ranging from “The King and I” to “Wicked” and “The Lion King.”
Cast members included Mary Claire Arbor, Meg Benington, Christian Blair, Dori Burkhart, Kendall Butler, Lauren Courtney, Katrina Geiersbach, Phoebe Guido, Ellie Henneman, Kaidi Hu, Louise Irpino, Anna Kinnas, Tess Klygis, Caroline Kramer, Paige Lambert, Emily Lawson, Mitchell Lee, Julia Miller, Emmanuelle Newlin, Brian Orza, Olivia Ostrowski, Reeya Patolawala, Sam Rasmussen and Mady Van Houtte.
