District 181 Superintendent Will Not Return Next School Year

Don White will end his position as District 181 superintendent at the end of the current school year.

HINSDALE, IL — Don White will end his position as District 181 superintendent at the end of the current school year. The District 181 Board of Education and superintendent Don White mutually agreed to end their contractual relationship, effective June 30, 2018. White has been superintendent of the district for four years, and an educator for 31 years, according to the district website.

Board members Marty Turek and Rich Giltner voted against the separation, but board members Jennifer Burns, Leslie Gray, Meeta Patel, and Margaret Kleber voted to approve the agreement. One board member, Nathan Lucht, did not attend the meeting.

"I do not accept this mutual termination, and I will be voting no," Turek said during the meeting. Turek and Giltner did support the severance package White will receive, but did not agree to the separation.
