District 86 Board of Education Renews Superintendent's Contract

The three-year contract renewal begins July 1, 2019 and expires on June 30, 2022.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Board of Education voted to renew Superintendent Dr. Bruce Law’s contract at its Sept. 17 Regular Action Meeting. The district said the three-year contract renewal begins July 1, 2019 and expires on June 30, 2022. Law’s current contract was set to expire on June 30, 2019.

“Over the past five years, Dr. Law has proven himself to be a talented and capable leader who manages not only the day-to-day operations but also has the difficult task of guiding the work to fulfill the vision the community has created for the district,” Board of Education President Bill Carpenter said in a release.

He added that the board supports "Law's stewardship in delivering the highest quality education to our students, keeping in place an adept leadership team while balancing the budget and upholding the highest
standard of transparency.”

“We have accomplished so much in the five years I have served as Superintendent in District 86 but there is still much to do,” Law said in a release. “I am grateful to the board for their support and confidence in my leadership to continue this work in extending the tradition of excellence for our students, staff and community.”

The district said Law will receive a three percent increase in each year. His salary for the 2018-19 school year is $250,051. Law has served as Superintendent for District 86 since 2013. Before rising to the Superintendent role, he previously held the position of Assistant Superintendent for Instruction with the district from 2010-2013.
