District 86 Names New Director of Operations

HINSDALE, IL - Jessica Orama has been named the Director of Operations for Hinsdale Township High School District 86. Orama will begin her new position on July 1.

According to a release from the district, Orama joined District 86 in August 2015 as the Director of Building and Grounds at Hinsdale South High School.

“We are so pleased to have Jessica take on this new District-level role for Operations, bringing to fruition the Board of Education-approved plan to reorganize Buildings and Grounds,” said Superintendent Dr. Bruce Law in a release. “When she came on board, we had this reorganization in mind. Jessica has proven over the past two years that she has the expertise to best deploy Building and Grounds services, recognizing unrealized potential in that department. Having a District-level position structured in this way offers greater support to the buildings while also standardizing service across the district.”

“With 14 years of facility management in education, I am thrilled to apply my skills to this new opportunity,” said Orama in a release. “As I advanced in my career, I have held many of the positions that I will oversee, and that front-line experience will enable me to effectively manage the wide range of important Building and Grounds functions. I look forward to leading our dedicated Building and Grounds staff and working with them to elevate the level of service in Operations.”

According to the district, Orama earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Facility Management from North Dakota State University with a minor in Business Administration. She has also completed certification courses for Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Asbestos Inspector and Management Planner as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training.

Prior to coming to District 86, Orama has held a variety of facility management positions in the education sector, most recently managing two multi-building school campuses in Tennessee.
